We recently took a look at various ways to make a big impact on the exterior of your home. Be sure to check the post out for ideas for every budget, ranging from extreme to simple. Today, we’re zooming in on the front door!
Blame it on Instagram or Pinterest but colorful front doors are making a comeback in a big way.
Wondering why you should join the Colorful Front Door Club? This is a minimal effort project resulting in maximum impact results. In other words, it won’t take you more than a day or two to complete the entire makeover yet is sure to be noticed immediately by visitors and neighbors. This is a low cost option yet increases curb appeal, something powerful to consider when looking to sell. Plus, your insta is about to blow up once you start sharing snaps of your new front door. Do it for the ‘gram, friends.
Choosing a color for your front door can be accomplished in a few simple steps. First, consider colors you (and any other adult decision makers in your home) love. Next, consider the color of your home’s exterior. Grab swatches in your favorite hues and hold them up to the exterior of your house. What looks great? Keep it! What clashes terribly? Ditch. For example, if you have an olive green home, a sunshiney yellow would look bright but a deep red would give off Christmas vibes all year long. Leave those holiday vibes to Santa’s house and choose something that pairs better together.
Consider your personality, how you want guests to feel upon arrival, and the season of life you’re in. If you’re raising a bunch of kiddos, a bright orange door might be beloved by the whole crew. If you’ve moved to a secluded cottage recently, opt for a robin’s egg blue or soothing mint shade that pairs perfectly with nature. If you’re young, single, and living your best millennial life, rock a pink front door. Get really wild and opt for Millennial Pink. Our point is you can choose any color so you might as well have fun with it!
Don’t stress if bright and bold aren’t your thing. You can still create a powerful design impact by painting your front door black, deep navy, or a crisp shade of white. Embrace the style of the house for continued inspiration. If everything in your pad is farmhouse, white and wood are the way to go. Modern and black are always a great team. Beach bungalows were made for coastal colors.
What color would you paint your front door? We want to know! Connect with us on insta so we can swoon over your fancy front doors!
