We created this Migraine Emergency Kit for those instances when the inevitable “Migraine Attack” happens and you aren’t at home with access to heat or electricity (or your quiet dark bedroom for that matter). If you are sound sensitive, there are two sets of ear plugs to allow you to dull the ever present “echo.” If you are light sensitive, we’ve included our 3D sleep mask so that you can take a nap while in flight, riding in the car or at the office without ruining your make-up or lash extensions. If you suffer from nausea and don’t have much warning, there are two self-sealing sickness bags and a packet of travel tissues, so you don’t have to do the "blind grab" for a nearby napkin or paper towel. They say that soaking one’s feet in warm water can help to alleviate throbbing by pulling the blood out of your head and towards your lower extremities. Our foot warmers are just the ticket while on the go.
For those of us who suffer from overheating during migraines, there are two instant ice packs. We like these on the forehead or temples depending upon where the headache is at a given moment, but they work just as well on the neck if you are nauseous. If you need your hands to drive, or type or be on the phone, then try one of the two cooling gel patches on your forehead. These have gotten us through more workdays than we care to mention! These patches are absolute lifesavers when trying to go to sleep with a throbbing head. The peppermint headache roller is fantastic for mimicking the feeling of ice when used on the temples, forehead, neck and behind the ears. Additionally, it is highly effective when used around the nose to cancel out offensive scents in case you are a scent sensitive migraineur.
If you have just done your hair or had a blowout, fear not, our stress relief head scratcher, when used in a upward motion from the back of the neck to the top of the skull will not only provide some relief, but has the added benefit of extra volume for your hair! We have also included a finger massage ring that is traditionally used for the relief of arthritis, but has the side benefit of distracting the nerves in your head during an attack.
