Description:

Inspired by the Tuscan landscape, the Cucina Fresca Narrow Oval Platter's raw terra cotta edges are reminiscent of 14th-century Italian pottery and bring a rustic, handcrafted authenticity to your table.

Product Dimensions: 16"L, 7"W

Care + Materials:

Dishwasher Safe - We recommend using a non-fragrant/non-citrus, non-abrasive detergent on the air dry cycle (or econo heat when available). It is recommended to place the dishes so they avoid touching during the high pressure dishwashing and as such we recommend you do not overload the dishwasher. All dishes should be dried thoroughly before being stored.

Microwave Safe - The temperature of VIETRI pieces may vary after microwave use due to the handmade nature of quality, natural clays. Thus, as with all products used in a microwave, please use the following precautions:

  • Always use a pot holder or oven mitt when handling the product as item may get hot.
  • Do not permit children to handle any product that has been heated in a microwave.
  • Do not put any products into a microwave without food or liquid on or inside the piece.
  • Allow item to cool before taking it out of the microwave.

Materials

  • Terra Cotta - A red clay that is traditionally the most commonly used. The properties tend to best showcase depth, saturation, and richness of colors.

Region + Artistry:

Stefano Roselli - Stefano Roselli was born in Italy in 1957. He got his artistic start in 1972 when he began to mold candle and wax. After gaining many years of experience and learning from other master molders, he transitioned to ceramics and began working at one of VIETRI’s dearest factories. Stefano quickly learned the details and nuances of various clays and ceramics. He was soon recognized as an exceptionally innovative and gifted molder, and in 1989, he became a maestro molder himself. Now, he leads the creative design process for many of our collections. A true artist, Stefano’s work is also his passion. He is most at home when he has clay on his hands and his sketches for possible designs scattered across his workspace. During his free time, he sculpts Renaissance and Roman-inspired bas-reliefs for his home.

Tuscany - A region in central Italy, Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history, craftsmanship, and influence on culture. The birthplace of the Renaissance, Tuscany is often called the art palace of Italy, and many of the world's greatest works of art come from this region.
